Strategic Planning
The National Trust movement has grown to include organisations in a range of countries from Australia, Bermuda and Canada through India, Jersey and Korea to Taiwan, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
In a rapidly changing world National Trusts provide connections which bring people in contact with culture and places in ways which deeply enrich their lives, offering the real thing in an age of virtual reality whilst not forgetting the power of new technology to make important connections.
There are many different approaches and no one model of ‘National Trust’ has a monopoly on good ideas and effective work. But by coming together, sharing with each other and making the most of limited resources we can celebrate our diversity whilst building on what is unique and special about what we do.
INTO offers an invaluable bank of knowledge and experience to strengthen existing National Trusts and similar bodies towards the achievement of their objectives, and to empower communities seeking to develop new Trust-like organisations where hitherto a voice for heritage did not exist.
Below is a selection of INTO member organisation’s strategic plans:
The Land Conservancy of British Columbia, Canada – Moving Forward
The National Trust for England, Wales and Northern Ireland – Going Local
National Trust of Fiji Islands – Our heritage in Trust
St Lucia National Trust – Our Future Plans
The National Trust for Scotland – Our future plans
The Cross-Cultural Foundation of Uganda – Drawing on diversity to build identity
